June 25 - July 14th, I will be in the FANTASTIC state of California. Can't wait! I will get to celebrate my aunt's birthday, have a belated Father's Day with the Daddio, and maybe mix in a little Vegas trip, some Tahoe, and of course, time well spent with my Grandma. Oh, and can't forget seeing the lovely KG before she heads south!
Until then, I have 3 - count 'em - 3 days left of school, one teacher work day, 3 professional development sessions scattered randomly throughout the coming weeks, a Student Council retreat, and lots of hours of lounging by the pool and working off the post-wedding bulge.
Tonight we are flipping channels between the Conference USA Baseball Championship (Go Coogs!), and the Dynamo game, and tomorrow Tate and I are going to visit my student who is still in the hospital after his accident. The kids raised quite a bit of money for him, so we are going to visit with his Dad and see if we can't purchase some PT equipment for him to use once he gets to go home. Monday we may have some friends over to hang out by the pool, and grill burgers, etc. -- gotta love Memorial Day weekend...and thank you to all of those who have laid down their lives for this country!
...and on a sad note -- my daisy has died. Unfortunately it got a disease...actually a fungal infection caused by not getting enough sunlight. I'm going to have to put the blame on my husband though, because I would always open the blinds before I left for work so that it could get sun all day, but Tate always closed them, poor little plant. I tried to save it, but, it has just been way too hot here lately. I put it out in the morning with water, and by the time I got home from work it was totally wilted and a lost cause. So much for my green thumb. I'm thinking plants are better suited for California, not in pot on my balcony, or my counter-top!

Id love to catch up while youre home Amy! Side note about your sad note: when I saw "daisy" I thought you were talking about your dog at first! I thought "fungal disease from not enough sunlight - thats horrible!" Then i read "poor little plant" and laughed at my mistake. Sorry about the plant but happy it wasnt the death of a beloved pup : )
I thought the same thing!!!! Isn't your dog's name Daisy?
